I know it's late but it's worth the post! A Filipina beauty plus brain captivated the eyes of the world again, all hail to Ms. Karla Paula Ginteroy Henry for bagging the Ms. Earth 2008 title. She bested 84 other contestants from all over the world. Phew! It's the first time for the Philippines to have this honor and second time in a row for a Filipina-Canadian, Ms. Jessica Trisko to held such title.
The pageant was held at Clark Expo situated in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines last November 9, 2008. And oh! Here's a record to break: She's the very first Asian to win such award in where the Miss Earth pageant was conceptualized.
Her winning Q&A went like this...
Q: "What would you tell US president-elect Barack Obama about the state of the global environment if ever you were to meet?"
Ms. Henry: "Environmental knowledge is something that all of us must share, but most importantly we must teach the youth that this is something that we should instill in them so that in the near future they will be the ones to take care of our mother Earth."
FYI, Ms. Henry is a Cebu-based model, Ms. Cebu 2007 and Ms. FTV 2nd Runner Up. Oh! Before I forget, she was voted as Ms. Photogenic of the said event as adjudged by the local and foreign photographers. BISAYA JUD!
